MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT 2024

J.A Bloor Agricultural Services Ltd are principally engaged in the sale, service and repair of agricultural and plant machinery along with the supply of materials handling equipment.

J.A Bloor Agricultural Services Ltd considers that modern slavery encompasses:

•              Human trafficking;

•              Forced work, through mental or physical threat;

•              Being owned or controlled by an employer through mental or physical abuse or the threat of abuse

•              Being dehumanised, treated as a commodity or being bought or sold as property;

•              Being physically constrained or to have restriction placed on freedom of movement.

Our commitment

J.A Bloor Agricultural Services Ltd are committed to assisting with the eradication of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking. We will work in line with section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

We respect the human rights of everyone who works for us and those who work on our behalf, via our supply chains. J. A Bloor Agricultural Services Ltd has a zero-tolerance attitude to slavery and human trafficking in all its business dealings and is committed to the prevention of slavery and human trafficking in all forms. We are committed to doing business the right way – acting honestly, fairly and with high levels of integrity.

J.A Bloor Agricultural Services Ltd acknowledges its responsibilities in relation to tackling modern slavery and commits to complying with the provisions in the Modern Slavery Act 2015. The company understands that this requires an ongoing review of both ins internal practices in relation to its labour force and, additionally, its supply chains.

J. A Bloor Agricultural Services Ltd does note have a turnover of above £36 million, hence it is not required to publish and annual modern slavery statement. However, as a conscientious company, it takes a step further than needed to prevent modern slavery in it business and its supply chains.

J.A Bloor Agricultural Services Ltd does note enter into business with any other organisation, in the United Kingdom or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to involve itself in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour. No labour provided to the company in the pursuance of the provision of its own services is obtained by means of slavery or human trafficking. The company strictly adheres to the minimum standards required in relation to its responsibilities under relevant employment legislation.

Our policies on Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking

J.A Bloor Agricultural Services Ltd recognise that Modern Slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. We are aware that Modern Slavery takes various forms, including slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain. J.A Bloor Agricultural Services Ltd encourage all staff members to monitor the risks of modern slavery, both internally and externally whilst reporting on any potential risks or failings.

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Anti-Slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere within our business.

J.A Bloor Agricultural Services Ltd operates the following policies that describe its approach to ensuring the above

Whistleblowing Policy – J.A Bloor Agricultural Services encourages all its workers, customers and other business partners to report any concerns related to the direct activities, or the supply chairs of, the Company without fear of compromising their position. This includes any circumstances that may give rise to an enhanced risk of slavery or human trafficking.

Employee Code of Conduct – J.A Bloor Agricultural Services Ltd makes it clear to employees the actions and behaviour expected of them when representing the Company which strives to maintain the highest standards of employee conduct and ethical behaviour when operating and managing its supply chain.

Supplier Code of Conduct – J.A Bloor Agricultural Services is committed to ensuring that is suppliers adhere to the highest standards of ethics. Suppliers are required to demonstrate that they provide safe working conditions where necessary, treat workers with dignity and respect, and act ethically and within the law in their use of labour. The Company works with suppliers to ensure that they meet the standards of the code and improve heir worker’s working conditions.

J.A Bloor Agricultural Services has a zero tolerance approach to modern slavery and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implement and enforce effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or our supply chains.

Training

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our businesses, in our supply chains and in our business partners, we provide relevant training to our staff.

Communication

Employees are expected to report any concerns as a matter of priority, initially to their line Manager. These will be investigated and reported on, with the actions identified being implemented with immediate effect. Employees reporting any concerns will be protected by the company and will not be disciplined, regardless of the outcome of the investigation.

Risk Assessment

J.A Bloor Agricultural Services Ltd have assessed the risks of contributing to Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking and we deem our risk to be very low within our company and suppliers.

What we plan to do to reduce the risk of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking 2023-2024

•              Review and amend our policies, as required.

•              Focus on new employees and suppliers whilst tightening controls to ensure compliance with section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement.
